We are a Masters Swimming Club made up of members who reside mostly in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa, but some of whom live in other parts of the world.  Be part of a community ranging from social swimmers to elite world champions, encouraging each other on our own unique journeys in swimming.

Joining fees are R550 (social or pensioner) or R1,200 (competitor).  All members are be eligible to swim the monthly galas, but Competitor members can also compete at the annual South African Masters Championships, and every second year a contingent competes at the FINA World Masters Championships.  click here to join

There are a number of swimming squads (click for times and dates) at the various gyms and pools in Cape Town, your local pool will be able to give you up to date information.  We compile this from our members and update it occasionally but things do change so just check.

race with us

Masters swimming is divided into age group categories for both male and female swimmers:   25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70 – 74, 75 – 79, 80 – 84, 85 – 89, 90 – 94 ... (five year age groups as high as is necessary).

We swim in both short course (25m) pools and long course (50m) pools, with separate records for each.

Cape Town Masters is a club within the Western Cape (province) of South Africa.  All Masters competitions are club based, even the world champs, so one represents one's club at all times.  However, one can achieve provincial, national and world records, and can be awarded provincial and national colours.

The gala schedule is on the calendar page and, where applicable, the links to enter will be there too.

socialise with us

We've been known to get together outside of the swimming environment.  Sometimes we have an excuse (committtee meetings and AGM's) and sometimes we don't.  You'd definitely fit in.
